Pokemon Gold-Silver
As a precursor to the North American release, Gold and Silver were displayed for audiences to interact with at the 2000 American International Toy Fair in New York City.[33] To further promote the games, Nintendo modified five Chrysler PT Cruisers to resemble the new Pokémon Lugia and had them driven around the United States. The vehicles had fins and tails attached to them and were painted with logos and images of the Pokémon franchise. In addition, they were equipped with a television set hooked up to game consoles which allowed spectators to play Pokémon Puzzle League, Hey You, Pikachu!, and Pokémon Gold and Silver.[34] The television series Pokémon GS, based on the games, was announced to be a part of the fall lineup on Kids' WB. The show features the same protagonist Ash Ketchum in a new region with different Pokémon species from the games.[35] The localized English names of the 100 new Pokémon were kept confidential by Nintendo, with the company releasing names periodically. The domain names 'pokemongold.com' and 'pokemonsilver.com' were registered for this very purpose,[36] and such names released included Chikorita, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Togepi, Hoothoot, and Marill.[37]
Pokemon Gold-Silver
Years ago I was playing Pokemon Gold and was cruising around Kanto and was walking through that patch of grass above rock tunnel, the spot where you can surf to get to the power plant if you so wish. I found a pokemon, and this dude came across my screen.
I honest to god thought my game was broken (I was watching tv and missed the shiny stars flash across the screen). I had the shiny Gyrados from the Lake of Rage but had no idea there were other "shiny" pokemon. I caught it and immediately googled why the hell my Voltorb was blue and found out there was a 1/8192 chance to find a shiny. I honestly couldn't believe it. After all the hours I put into Red/Blue and eventually Gold/Silver I never even realized something like that existed.
Pokemon is a famous game series that is well known throughout the world. The games series started off as a traditional RPG where you catch monsters called Pokemon and train them to face other opponents. The designs of the Pokemon are one of the reasons why gamers were attracted to Pokemon. Designers used animal references to their Pokemon designs. Take for example the most famous pokemon Pikachu. You can think of Pikachu as an enlarged mouse with the ability to generate electricity. The Pokemon Arbok resembles a cobra, and the pokemon Dewgong is similar to a seal. The game is a simulation of reality, where players can imagine an environment similar to wildlife, and catch pokemon like catching animals. When I was a kid everytime I see an animal it reminds me of a Pokemon, making want to play the games more. Maybe this was a marketing scheme Nintendo used to get people addicted to Pokemon.
@Zombie_Barioth Well, you can cheat to recreate the pokemon. The difference here is that I think the guy built up some kind if "converter" - which does the cheating for you. Yet I'm not sure because I read that quite time ago.Generaly there is too much difference in code between 1-2 and 3rd gen games and this is why it is impossible. Also: the IVs were always around but they were working a little bit different along with EVs (Stats Experience back then). Generally finding a pokemon with perfect "genes" back them was a quite impossible task (chances were 1:65536), which is now very simple, as of gen 6th.
This instructable shows you how to replace a battery in a pokemon gold/silver cart.If yours deletes your save and won't let you save anymore then chances are you will need to replace the battery. This may work with other gameboy games but pokemon gold/silver are the only ones I know about. Please Note: I take no responsibility for any damage to you, your gameboy, your game or anything else. My game and gameboy are fine and this shouldn't damage them, Just covering myself. Please note: if you have ANY type of save that loads up then this will wreck that, otherwise lets get startedEDIT: quadcam24 has suggested in the comments that instead of using a screwdriver you could use fine tipped pliers to turn the security screw, this method would be easier and quicker than using a screwdriver if you could find pliers with thin enough tips 041b061a72
